 My Roots in Natural Healing

I was born and raised in Kumamoto, a serene town in southern Japan known for its hot springs and close-knit farming communities. I grew up in a multigenerational household with my grandparents, parents, and siblings - all under one roof. With my parents busy running a family business, I spent much of my childhood by my grandmother’s side, where I was naturally introduced to traditional healing practices. She would harvest herbs from our backyard, dry them under the sun, and prepare fresh herbal teas - something that became deeply imprinted in me.

Our community shared what they had - fruits, vegetables, conversation, and care. It was in this environment that I first learned that health isn’t just about the absence of illness - it’s about the fullness of life, connection, and living in rhythm with nature.

A Natural Calling

Even as a child, I was unusually conscious about health and wellbeing. Although I never experienced serious illness myself, I always carried a strong curiosity and intuition around how to live well. Years later, as I prepared for the next chapter of life after raising my children, I found myself revisiting that passion.

Discovering naturopathy felt like a natural progression. It was the right time to formalise my health philosophy and begin sharing it with others. What had been an intuitive part of motherhood became the foundation of my professional journey.

Education & Clinical Interests

I completed my Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy at Torrens University in Sydney, where I studied evidence-based natural medicine alongside traditional healing systems. My clinical interest lies in supporting women through the perimenopausal years, typically between ages 35 and 55. This time of transition is often misunderstood, yet holds enormous potential for growth, clarity, and renewal when properly supported.

I also work with Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) to uncover deeper imbalances that impact energy, mood, and hormone health. My toolkit includes herbal medicine, nutrition, mineral therapy, and iridology, all of which I tailor to each woman’s unique needs.

How I Work

I offer in-person consultations once a week in Paddington, Sydney, and online consultations four days a week to support women from a range of locations and lifestyles.

My approach is gentle, educational, and collaborative. I believe in giving women the tools and understanding they need to navigate hormonal shifts with confidence - not confusion. Whether it’s a custom herbal formula, dietary support, lifestyle advise or functional testing, each recommendation is made with care, clarity, and your long-term wellbeing in mind.

Looking ahead, I plan to offer workshops and courses for perimenopausal women, integrating Japanese wellness philosophy and healthy Japanese cooking as part of the healing journey. Sharing these traditional practices brings me joy, and offers a beautiful balance of nourishment, culture, and simplicity.

My Mission

As a mother of two and a resident of Sydney for over 30 years, I’ve been blessed to experience life in a rich, multicultural community. These experiences continue to shape the way I see health - not just as a clinical goal, but as a human, cultural, and spiritual one.

My mission is to support women who have so much to juggle - work, family, ageing parents, children - through the hormonal transition of perimenopause with compassion, clarity, and tools that actually work. With the right support, I believe every woman can move through this chapter with grace, strength, and renewed energy - and continue to shine well beyond it.

"I had an amazing experience at Kuma Naturopathy, Cina was so kind and thorough during the whole consultation process! She had so much attention to detail when it came to the different issues I was experiencing, and was considerate of all my preferences and personal objectives when building a holistic plan to improve my diet and lifestyle. Would 100% recommend!!"
